In regards to the theme, I have to say your right. The profile view is also pretty horrid and i like nice clean crisp profiles.

And it seems MyBB 1.4 is going in that direction too. Cool!

Yeah I'm hoping MyBB takes a more "visual" approach, I think for a free forum solution to focus on the looks and features would be a great thing. I mean PhpBB has attempted to pull people in with a very nice 3rd design but it doesn't do the trick for me, I actually love IPB's pro Theme.

I just wished MyBB would drop the default theme or improve it, it's so basic it bores me. (on the other hand it has a charm)

I think MyBB will get new skin with v 2.0!? not 100% sure

I wished they'd tweak it now, although I guess I could wait for 2.0

Hopefully it'll remain free then, or charge a small price for it. I'm starting to fear that it could change as it improves just like a few others, very powerful forum solution. I think 1.4 will easily walk over smf 2.0 and phpbb 3...
