How to make a Theme ?

Is there any Simple tutorial on how to make a theme ?
I Was on MyBB Support but they had one which was really complicated

There is no simple way.

1. Make a photoshop/gimp mockup
2. Slice the images
3. Edit default theme (html and css) until you are satisfied with the end result.

but that would just be the normal MyBB with diferent images, how do we create a new fell adn look
