Canon i6500 - problems
I have had some problems with my Canon i6500 printer.
It was trowing this service error 5100.

I used Canon printer reset manual and everything worked fine after that.
Quote:Canon i6500

1: Power off printer
2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
3: Hold POWER and release RESUME
4: Press RESUME twice
5: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
6: Press Power to set data

for other Canon printers see this web page http://www.cyber-ink.com/member-canon.html

I hope this will be helpful to someone.

RE: Canon i6500 - problems
Buddy, how good is this printer?

Reason I'm asking is because my wife and I are considering buying one, we do have a all-in-one lexmark one but it spits paper out when it chooses and is the worst I've seen when it comes to ink usage.

At pc-world, I noticed they quoted that canon was one of the best for ink usage. (no way HP)

RE: Canon i6500 - problems
I tried all of them. HP, Canon, Epson, Lexmark (btw the worst printer I have ever seen).

If you want professional quality prints HP is the best. Their price is very "good" also.

Canon is very good, not like HP but it's close. And they are cheaper than HP.

Epson, hmm it depends, they have all sorts of printers. Some are very good, and some are pure shit.

I am using Canon's because they are relatively cheap, cheap and good Ink cartridges, and good print quality.

Hp -> Mercedes
Canon -> Toyota

RE: Canon i6500 - problems
I'm not a fan of HP, my work place has one of those with the camera function and unless it's just that model it tends to smuge while printing. (Others I know dislike it)

Not a car person either, one of those sad gets who'd rather ride a bike or catch the bus/tram service. LOL

Thanks buddy, I'll keep canon in mind.

P.s Lexmark really isn't good.

RE: Canon i6500 - problems
the head cleaning fails to resolves the problem, we suggest checking with Canon if you are unsure...

As such I am a nerd when it comes to the technical problems of the computers. But I still try to figure utilising the sources I have. You know I always save such kind of queries as I know someday or the other it would be useful to those who would be lacking in the same situation.
